Priya Nanjappa

Vice President Of Conservation Programs at National Parks Conservation Association

Priya Nanjappa has a diverse work experience in conservation programs and policy-making. Priya is currently serving as the Vice President of Conservation Programs at the National Parks Conservation Association. Prior to this, they held the role of Member at Chief. Priya has also served as the Chairperson of the Board and Board Member (volunteer) at the Amphibian and Reptile Conservancy. Additionally, they have been a Board Member (volunteer) at the North Cascades Institute. Priya has significant experience in environmental regulation, having served as a Commissioner at the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission. Priya has also volunteered as a Mentor at the Next100 Coalition. Earlier in their career, Priya worked at Conservation Science Partners as the Director of Operations and at the Association of Fish & Wildlife Agencies as a Program Manager. Priya started their career as a Biological Science Technician at the US Geological Survey.

Priya Nanjappa completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Wildlife Biology, with a minor in Environmental Studies, from Iowa State University. Priya attended the university from 1992 to 1996.

Later, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree at Ball State University. The field of study for their Master's degree is not specified. Priya studied at Ball State University from 1998 to 2000.

In addition to their formal education, Priya Nanjappa has obtained two additional certifications. In October 2019, they completed the TREC Senior Leadership Program offered by Training Resources for the Environmental Community. In March 2019, they received the 2109 PARC Visionary Leader Award from Partners in Amphibian and Reptile Conservation.
