Michael Woodhouse has a diverse work experience starting with their role as a High School Chemistry and Physics Instructor at Glenwood Springs and Fruita Monument High Schools from 1998 to 2002, where they taught a large number of students and established successful advanced placement chemistry and senior-level physics courses. Michael then moved on to Colorado State University, where they worked as a Doctoral Researcher from 2002 to 2007. Following that, Woodhouse joined the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in 2008, first as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow and then as a Project Lead and Energy Technologies, Economics, and Policy Analyst. In this role, they served as the principal investigator and team lead for various solar energy and storage projects, including leading the team in areas such as system performance modeling, cost analysis, and policy analysis.

Michael Woodhouse obtained a PhD in Physical Chemistry from Colorado State University, where they studied from 2002 to 2007.
