Peter Churchbourne

Managing Director - NRA Hunting Division & Hunters' Leadership Forum at National Rifle Association of America

Peter Churchbourne has a diverse work experience in the field of conservation and hunting. Peter started their career at Ducks Unlimited in 1997 as the Director of Fundraising and Volunteer Relations. During their time there, they excelled in multiple regions by building strong fundraising teams and implementing an internal software system for volunteer communication. Peter was also successful in securing major gifts from individuals and corporations.

In 2015, Peter joined the National Rifle Association (NRA) where they held two director positions. As the Director of Hunter Services, they created and managed a free online hunter education course that resulted in 150,000 new hunters. Peter also introduced the concept of matching state agency funds for hunter education, unlocking over $2,000,000 in funding. Additionally, they expanded the NRA Outdoors training programs to include seven different offerings.

In their role as the Director of the Hunters' Leadership Forum at the NRA, Peter produced a research resource book on hunting and worked with organizational partners to fulfill financial and leadership priorities. Peter was also responsible for organizing an annual fundraising and awards dinner ceremony.

In 2021, Peter became the Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Outdoor Stewards of Conservation Foundation.

Peter Churchbourne attended Radford University from 1988 to 1992, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Administration of Justice. During their time at Radford University, their field of study focused on criminology, sociology, and psychology.
