João M. da Silva Santos

Postdoctoral Researcher at National Solar Observatory

João da Silva Santos is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the National Solar Observatory since September 2021, specializing in solar physics and supporting DKIST telescope operations, utilizing programming skills in Python, MATLAB, and IDL. Prior experience includes serving as a Research Assistant and PhD Student at Stockholm University from October 2016 to August 2021, focusing on general astronomy, solar physics, and data analysis from ground-based telescopes and satellites. João's training also includes a brief tenure as a Trainee at Centro de Astrobiologia (CSIC-INTA) in early 2016, concentrating on far-infrared astronomy and spectroscopy. Academically, João holds a PhD in Astronomy from Stockholm University, a Master of Science from Universidade do Porto, a Bachelor of Science from the same institution, and participated in an Erasmus program in Astrophysics at Université Paul Sabatier Toulouse III.
