Aaron Ament

Aaron Ament serves as the President of the National Student Legal Defense Network since April 2017, advocating for students' rights and educational opportunities. Previously, Ament held positions at the U.S. Department of Education as Chief of Staff and Special Counsel from October 2013 to January 2017, and served as Assistant Attorney General for the Commonwealth of Kentucky from March 2011 to September 2013. Ament played a key role in Jack Conway's U.S. Senate campaign as the Director of New Media from July 2010 to March 2011 and was Deputy Director of State Affairs at Justice at Stake from May 2009 to June 2010. Ament earned a BA in Political Science and an MA in Political Science from Northwestern University, and a JD from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law.
