Julieth Andrea Sierra Delgado

Julieth Andrea Sierra Delgado, MD, M.Sc has a diverse work experience in the field of medical research. Julieth Andrea started their career as a Selective Internship at Universidad de los Andes, where they assisted in a genotoxicity project. Julieth Andrea then worked as an On-site Medical Doctor at the Public Health department of Universidad Industrial de Santander. Later, they served as a Medical Researcher at Universidad Industrial de Santander, working on a project related to fragile X syndrome in patients with autism.

Julieth also worked as a Short Term Scholar at Nationwide Children's Hospital and later returned as a Research Assistant, Research Associate, and eventually a Senior Research Associate. In this position, they focused on developing in vitro modeling systems and testing gene therapy strategies for neurological diseases.

Additionally, Julieth gained valuable experience as an MD-Graduate Research Assistance at Universidad Industrial de Santander-Fundacion Cardiovascular de Colombia. Julieth Andrea led a project to determine the prevalence of Neutralizing Antibodies against different AAV serotypes in patients from Colombia.

Julieth Andrea began their educational journey in 2009 at Universidad de Los Andes, where they obtained their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in 2015, specializing in the field of Medicina. In 2016, they pursued further studies at Universidad Industrial de Santander, earning a Master's degree in Basic Biomedical Sciences in 2018. Additionally, during the same period, they also obtained a Magister en Ciencias Basicas Biomedicas from the same university, solidifying their expertise in the field of Medicina.
