Manning Zhang began their professional career in 2013 as a receptionist, cashier and waitress at Dohatsuten Ramen. In 2015, they held multiple positions, including Field Camper at Schlumberger, Callcenter Agent and Ride Scheduler at Outreach, Community Outreach Coordinator at Society of Petroleum Engineers, and Student Affairs Officer at Society of Women Engineers. In 2016, they were an Engineering Intern at Honeywell, where they used AutoCAD to construct P&ID drawings, drew shaft part drawings, and drew isometric drawings for sulfuric acid pipelines. Manning also reviewed inspection recommendations and created inspection tasks in Meridium software. In 2017, they became a Chemical Process Engineer at Honeywell, where they provided production support and set up BOM/Routings for parts. Manning was also responsible for leading the “Needs Development Worksheet” (NDWS) process to support initial cost estimation and scope development for site capital projects. In 2022, they began their current role as Process Engineer at Natron Energy.

Manning Zhang has an extensive education history. Manning received a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Southern California in 2017. Manning then continued their studies at the University of Southern California, earning a Master's Degree in Petroleum Engineering with a GPA of 3.84 in 2019. Prior to that, Manning attended Irvington High School and received their High School Diploma in 2013. In addition to their formal education, Manning has obtained several certifications, including edX Verified Certificates for Supply Chain Comprehensive Exam, Supply Chain Design, Supply Chain Technology and Systems, Supply Chain Analytics, Supply Chain Dynamics, and Supply Chain Fundamentals, all obtained in 2021. Manning also earned a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification from Honeywell in 2018, and was a National Finalist for the US National Chemistry Olympic Competition in 2012.
