Gabriela Artavia

Gabriela Artavia has a diverse work experience in various organizations. Gabriela currently holds the position of Director of Global Foundation Strategies at the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) since 2023. Prior to this, they worked at the Union of Concerned Scientists, starting as a Senior Foundations Officer from December 2010 to July 2014 and then transitioning to the role of Director of Foundation Relations from August 2014 to July 2023. In 2007, they worked as a Communications Officer at EcoLogic Development Fund and as a Resource Developer at the International Rescue Committee in 2006. Gabriela also held the position of Associate Director, Global Master of Arts Program at The Fletcher School/Tufts University from 2003 to 2006.

Gabriela Artavia obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and French from Middlebury College from 1985 to 1989. Later, they pursued a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy (MALD) with a focus on International Relations, graduating from The Fletcher School at Tufts University between 1992 and 1994.
