Karin Santos

Karin Santos is a seasoned curator at the Swedish Museum of Natural History, where responsibilities include research in plant systematics and evolution, biogeography, and diversity, along with management of herbarium collections and coordination of the Reflora Program in Stockholm. Previous roles encompass positions as a Digital Media Specialist, focusing on the digitization and cataloging of plant specimens, and as an Assistant Curator, with research in forest fragmentation. Prior to joining the Swedish Museum, Karin served as an Environmental Consultant, assessing restored forest areas, and as an Assistant Environmental Manager at CPFL Energia, overseeing native forest reforestation projects and conducting environmental education. Academic qualifications include a Research Doctorate and a Master’s degree in Botany from Universidade Estadual de Campinas, and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from UFSCar.
