We are hiring for a Frontend Software Engineer (Storefront) to join our team in our Toronto office. We are looking for a product-driven Frontend Software Engineer with a passion for crafting beautiful, responsive, and optimized user interfaces. 

In this role, you will be responsible for redesigning and building out our storefront, a modular, multi-vendor e-commerce template pre-integrated with Nautical's API for enhanced functionality in product browsing, account management, and checkout processes. A successful candidate excels in team collaboration and integrates creative and technical skills to develop engaging products that enhance user experience. 

We work in a hybrid work environment, and we value in-person collaboration and will often meet in-office three days a week.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, build and maintain our storefront experience
  • Design and build accessible and performant React components using Typescript, Radix, and Tailwind CSS
  • Communicate directly with customers to discuss upcoming features and impact
  • Design product features aligned with delivery timelines, using the Shape Up methodology for product and engineering management.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or 5 years of equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated passion and excellence in crafting exceptional user experiences.
  • Proven experience in developing Server-Side-Rendered React applications using Next.js or Remix.
  • Skilled in creating accessible and interactive UIs with JSX and CSS.
  • Experienced in web performance optimization and debugging.
  • Familiarity with standard software development practices including planning, estimating, and testing.
  • Proven ability to align with senior stakeholders on the technical direction of projects, especially in areas with unclear problems.
