Ryan Hansz is currently a designer and researcher at Nava, but they have also worked for Bloom Works LLC and the NYC Mayor's Office of Economic Opportunity in the past. At Bloom, they collaborated with state governments and non-profits to improve digital experiences for public services. This included design research, workshop facilitation, and digital product design with agile teams. Ryan also partnered with the NYC Mayor's Office of Data Analytics to build internal data-sharing strategies for the largest city in the US. Working with Connecticut's Office of Early Childhood, they designed a web-based digital product to collect Early Childhood data from 400+ funded providers.
Before Bloom, Ryan was a Service Design Fellow with the NYC Mayor's Office of Economic Opportunity, where they collaborated with NYC residents, civil servants, and community-based organizations to improve the experience of being connected to family support services. Ryan facilitated co-design sessions involving over 50 families and child welfare staff across all 5 boroughs of NYC. Ryan also coached partner agencies in developing design capabilities and roadmaps for future design work, and shared design concepts and resources across the Administration for Children's Services and community-based providers.
Ryan Hansz completed a Bachelor of Science in Design at the University of Cincinnati. Prior to that, they completed their high school diploma at Canton High School.
They work with Mallory Young - Designer/Researcher, Kelli Ho - Designer/Researcher, and Hanya Moharram - Designer/Researcher. Ryan Hansz reports to Senongo Akpem, VP, Design & Research.
