Catherine Del Vecchio Fitz has a long and varied work experience. Catherine began their career in 2005 as a Research Technician at Harvard Medical School, where they worked on a project centered around the role of DNA double stranded breaks in antibody class switch recombination. In 2006, they began their PhD Graduate Student role at Stanford University School of Medicine, where they investigated the role of epidermal growth factor receptor variant III (EGFRvIII) in glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) and breast carcinoma. In 2012, they became a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at The Whitehead Institute, where they researched mechanisms regulating stem and progenitor cell biology in breast cancer. In 2015, they became a Principal Scientist at N-of-One, Inc., where they were responsible for research and curation of scientific and clinical oncology data. In 2016, they began their role as a Senior Research Scientist in Clinical Genomics at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, where they led initiatives to create and maintain precision cancer medicine software platforms. In 2017, they became an Expert Advisor for the Maine Cancer Genomics Initiative. In 2018, they began their role as a Life Sciences Consultant, Head of Research and RWE, Life Sciences Business at Health Catalyst, where they provided consulting services for a new business unit in a variety of strategic areas. Catherine also became the Founder and Managing Director of Precision Oncology Consulting, LLC, where they provided strategic advising in areas surrounding translational cancer research, precision medicine, data curation and data science, health informatics and analytics, and product management. In 2020, they became the Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Reboot Rx. In 2021, they began their role as the Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs & Data Insights at NAVERIS, where they had previously been the Vice President of Medical Affairs and a Consultant.
Catherine Del Vecchio Fitz has an extensive education history. Catherine obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Bowdoin College in 2005. Catherine then attended Stanford University School of Medicine, where they obtained a Master of Science in Medicine in 2012 and a Doctor of Philosophy in Cancer Biology in 2012. In 2021, they obtained edX Verified Certificates for Programming for Everybody (Getting Started with Python) and Python Data Structures. In 2017, they obtained a Scrum Master Certified (SMC) from the Scrum Alliance.
