Selvam Muthusamy

Selvam Muthusamy has a diverse work experience in the field of biomedical research. Selvam started their career as a Doctoral Student at NCBS in 2010, where they focused on the role of retinol in the biology of Human and Mouse pluripotent stem cells. Selvam'sresearch led to the identification and description of Retinol as a fluorescent marker for primed pluripotent stem cells. In 2017, they joined UCSD as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, where they furthered their research in the same field until 2019. Selvam then joined BD as a Senior Scientist in December 2019 and worked there until September 2022. Currently, Selvam holds the position of Principal Scientist at Navigate BioPharma Services, Inc. starting from September 2022.

Selvam Muthusamy has a strong educational background in the field of biological sciences. Selvam began their academic journey by completing a Bachelor's Degree in Biotechnology from P.S.G. College of Arts and Science in 2008. Following this, they pursued a Master's Degree in Genome Sciences/Genomics from Madurai Kamaraj University, which they completed in 2010.

Selvam then went on to enroll in the National Centre For Biological Sciences, where they completed their first Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology in 2015. Selvam continued their research at the same institution and obtained a second Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in 2017, this time in Cell Biology and Metabolism.

In 2017, Selvam took their research to UC San Diego, where they worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher in Bioengineering until 2019.
