Vanessa Deen Johnson, MPH has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Most recently, they co-founded and assumed the role of CEO at Navvisa in December 2020. Navvisa offers virtual cancer care navigation services through telehealth and mobile app to individuals dealing with a cancer diagnosis. Vanessa is dedicated to providing personalized support and helping people achieve their best quality of life.

Prior to Navvisa, Vanessa co-founded Mindfulness Rx, Inc. in 2017, where they worked with foundations, hospitals, and clinics to address Moral Distress in healthcare providers. Mindfulness Rx offered unique tools and curriculum based on neuroscience, emotional intelligence, mindfulness, and compassion training to help healthcare providers address burnout and increase resilience. Vanessa held this role until March 2020.

From 2014 to 2017, Vanessa served as CEO and co-founder of My Health Concierge, a company that assists individuals diagnosed with cancer in navigating the healthcare system. Certified Oncology Nurse Practitioners provided patient-centric cancer care through empowerment, education, and communication.

Before their entrepreneurial ventures, Vanessa worked in various roles in the pharmaceutical industry. Vanessa was part of the Hematology National Advisory Board, Sales, and Marketing team at Onyx Pharmaceuticals, Inc. from December 2012 to January 2014. Prior to that, they worked in Hematology Sales and Marketing at Seattle Genetics from April 2011 to December 2012.

Vanessa has also gained valuable experience at Biogen Idec, where they worked in Hematology and Oncology Marketing, Sales, and Training from 2001 to March 2011. Vanessa held a similar position at Celgene, focusing on Oncology/Hematology Business Management, Clinical Trials Management, Sales, and Training from 1999 to 2002.

Early in their career, Vanessa worked at Glaxo Pharmaceuticals (previously Glaxo Wellcome) as a Senior Territory Manager in the Oncology/HIV division from 1989 to 1999.

Throughout their career, Vanessa's focus has been on providing support, education, and empowerment to individuals dealing with cancer, and addressing burnout and resilience in healthcare providers.

Vanessa Deen Johnson, MPH has a diverse educational background. Vanessa completed a 2-year certification program in Emotional Intelligence at the University of California, Berkeley. Additionally, they attended the Search Inside Yourself Learning Institute at Google, where they pursued an Engage Graduate program in Mindfulness, Neuroscience, and Emotional Intelligence. Furthering their knowledge, they obtained a Professional Coaching Certification through the Coaches Training Institute (CTI). Vanessa also holds a Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) degree from the University of San Francisco, specializing in Public Health. Vanessa'sundergraduate studies were completed at Brigham Young University, where they received a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree with a focus in Marketing and Communications.
