Danielle Reade Shanes

Danielle Reade Shanes is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in benefits and well-being leadership across multiple organizations. Currently serving as Senior Vice President and Head of Benefits and Well-Being at the National Basketball Association since January 2015, Danielle directs global strategies for benefits and well-being initiatives for NBA staff and players. Previously, as Vice President of Global Benefits at Reed Elsevier Inc., Danielle established strategic goals for global benefits, and during a prior role as Vice President of Benefits at Reed Elsevier, developed a US benefits strategy that influenced significant medical and retirement changes. Danielle's career also includes roles as Director of Benefits at Reed Elsevier and The McGraw-Hill Companies, along with early experience as a Municipal Bond Trader at JJ Kenny. Danielle holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from the University of Arizona.
