Shawn Yancy

Shawn Yancy is a seasoned news anchor currently working at NBC Washington since January 2021. With extensive experience in journalism, Shawn co-anchored weekday newscasts at WTTG-TV FOX 5 News from September 2001 to September 2020, earning accolades such as an Emmy and an Edward R. Murrow award. In addition to a successful broadcasting career, Shawn founded Girls Night Out by Shawn Yancy in August 2010, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering economically disadvantaged women and children. Shawn also owns Shawn Yancy Art & Design, specializing in contemporary mixed media art, and previously ran The Bangle, an online jewelry and accessories boutique. Shawn Yancy holds a Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Radio/TV from Ball State University.
