Amjad Badwan

Amjad Badwan is an experienced optometrist, currently serving as the owner and optometrist at Wake Family Eye Care since June 2014. Additionally, Amjad holds the position of Team Eye Doctor for NC State Athletics, focusing on primary care and sports vision. In academia, Amjad has been an Assistant Adjunct Faculty member at the University of Missouri-Saint Louis since August 2017, supervising students and conducting evaluations. As a Regional Leader for PECAA and former Chairperson of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee at the North Carolina State Optometric Society, Amjad has actively contributed to promoting inclusivity within the field. Previous positions include Regional Administrator at OD Excellence and optometrist roles at Triangle Eye Institute and Metro Area Eye Care, PLLC. Amjad earned a Doctorate in Optometry and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Vision Science from Nova Southeastern University, and holds a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a minor in Biology from North Carolina State University.
