Tax Technologist

Prosperity Partners (“Prosperity”) is a Chicago-headquartered public accounting firm offering best-in-class tax, accounting, and personal finance services to dynamic businesses, high net-worth individuals, and family offices. With offices throughout the United States, we are seeking a detail-oriented Tax Technologist to support our growing tax practice.

The candidate must possess the following characteristics: exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable with multi-tasking, meticulous attention to detail, a strong desire to learn, willingness to work in a team-oriented environment and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

The candidate will have a crucial role in supporting the various technological needs of our tax services department. This position requires a basic understanding of certain tax technology, exceptional organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment. While the role will require heavy use of Wolters Kluwer CCH Axcess and Thomson Reuters SurePrep software, the candidate will play a critical role in increasing efficiencies through the use of all technologies across the tax department. Specific duties include: the collection and processing of incoming tax files from company clients through both the CCH Axcess and SurePrep platforms, technical software support for our tax professional team, and software training and data migration for acquisition companies. Lastly, there are endless opportunities to identify and implement efficiency gains in a continually evolving field.

Due to the collaborative nature of our work, employees are expected to be in the office three days per week.

We are accepting resumes consistent with the following background and ability:

  • A bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited university, with a major or focus declared in Accounting, Data Analytics, Computer Science or other related field;
  • Basic understanding of CCH Axcess platform and/or Thomson Reuters platform preferred;
  • Experience using a workflow management tool such as XCM preferred;
  • Proven experience in technical support, customer support, and data analytics;
  • Basic understanding of tax principles and practices preferred;
  • Proficient in tax software and payroll systems preferred;
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills;
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook applications;
  • Energetic with positive attitude;
  • Ability to take direction and see tasks through to completion;
  • Availability to work in the Chicago office at least 3 days per week.
