Andrea Prejean has extensive work experience, starting in 1986 as an Educator in Brevard County Schools, where they taught elementary and middle school math and science until 1996. Andrea then joined American University in 1997 as an Assistant Professor, a role they held until 2003. During their time at American University, they began working at the National Education Association in 2003 as a Sr. Policy Analyst - STEM. Andrea later took on the role of Associate Director and then became the Director of Priority Schools from 2012 to 2016. Currently, they serve as the Teacher Quality Director at the National Education Association, a position they have held since September 2016.
Andrea Prejean holds an Ed.D. degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Central Florida.
