Adv. Aurial (Jordaan) Palmer has over 19 years of work experience in the legal and compliance field. Adv. Aurial is currently serving as the Divisional Head of Compliance Wealth Management at Nedbank Private Wealth South Africa since August 2019. Prior to this, they worked for Metropolitan as a Senior Compliance Specialist from May 2015 to July 2019. Adv. Aurial also held the position of Legal & Compliance Manager at Novare Actuaries & Consultants (Pty) Ltd from November 2012 to April 2015. Earlier in their career, they served as the Group Compliance Officer at Novare Holdings (Pty) Ltd from November 2007 to November 2012 and as a Compliance Officer at Masthead from November 2004 to October 2007. Adv. Aurial began their career as a Legal Advisor at Old Mutual from March 2000 to April 2004.

Adv. Aurial (Jordaan) Palmer has a diverse education history. Adv. Aurial was admitted as an Advocate by the High Court of South Africa - Law Society of South Africa. In 1999, they completed their LL.B (Tax) degree at the University of the Western Cape. In 2005, they obtained a Certificate in Compliance and Risk Management from the University of Cape Town. In 2017, they completed the Regulatory Examination 1 in Financial Planning and Services at the Financial Services Board. More recently, from 2020 to 2023, they pursued a Masters of Laws degree in Comparative Labour Law, focusing on Mercantile and Labour Law, at the University of the Western Cape. Adv. Aurial is also currently pursuing a Master of Laws degree (LLM) at the University of the Western Cape, which is expected to be completed in 2023.

In addition to their education, they received several certifications. In 2019, they became a Legal Practitioner Council Member and obtained the UWC Alumni certification in 2000. Adv. Aurial is also recognized as an Advocate by the Law Society of South Africa. Furthermore, they obtained a Certificate in Compliance and Risk Management from UCT and completed the FSCA regulatory examination from the Financial Services Board.
