Poovalin Pillay

Poovalin Pillay has extensive work experience in the financial industry, with a focus on credit strategy, risk appetite, and portfolio management. They started their career at Accenture as an Analyst in 2007 before moving to Nedbank in the same role. At Nedbank, they gained experience as a Senior Analyst and later as Head of Credit Pricing and Non-AIRB Models from 2010 to 2012. They then transitioned to the role of Head: Retail Models from 2012 to 2018. Finally, they held the position of Head of Credit Strategy and Risk Appetite at Nedbank starting from 2018, where they provided leadership on credit strategy, portfolio management, and risk appetite. Prior to their time at Nedbank, they briefly worked as a Capital Management Consultant at Absa in 2010.

From 2003 to 2006, Poovalin Pillay completed a Bachelor of Business Science (Hons) degree in Finance and Strategic Management at the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
