As vice president of strategy management, Maymie Beers is responsible for managing NeighborWorks America's corporate strategic planning, performance measurement and program and process evaluation activities to optimize organizational impact. Her team of planning and evaluation experts work with internal partners on initiatives to identify opportunities for improving organizational performance, effectiveness and accountability.
Prior to joining NeighborWorks, Beers served as director of strategy and change at Capital One, where she led strategic initiatives to enable adoption of corporate-wide data and technology transformation. During her tenure, she led teams and projects across several program areas, including data governance, operational risk management, enterprise analytics R&D, process excellence, strategic communications and change management. Previously, Beers served as senior associate leader at Booz Allen Hamilton, a management consulting firm, where she led marketing efforts and delivery of strategy and organizational development solutions to clients across different market segments.
Beers began her career as an economist at the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics after earning her Master’s in Economics from Boston University. She brings more than 20 years of experience designing and implementing strategies and organizational transformations in both the private and public sectors. She believes in the importance of utilizing data and analytics to drive insights, building collaborative partnerships and designing solutions with a customer- or user-centric mindset. She applies these practices to her day-to-day work and to her involvement as a volunteer at local nonprofits focused on advancing equity and empowering women and girls in underserved communities.
