Roberto C.

Roberto C. has an extensive work experience in software engineering. Roberto began their career in 2009 as a Software Verification Engineer at Avionyx S.A., where they led a team of 2-3 software/hardware engineers and served as a liaison between the customer in the USA and the team in Costa Rica. In 2012, they moved to Prodigious Latin America as a Senior PHP / FrontEnd Developer, coding PSD mockups into HTML websites as per designers specs and performing front end work including Javascript/jQuery implementations and event tagging for analytics. In 2014, they became a Senior Android Developer at Bar-Z, leading the Costa Rica development team and refactoring the main app. In 2016, they took on the role of Full Stack Developer/CTO for ISO Success, designing and developing backend software using the Laravel 5.3 PHP framework. In 2019, they founded and was the only developer for ZippyHR.com, a SaaS software startup in Costa Rica focused on developing tools for HR processes. Roberto also worked as a React Native Developer, developing a catalog app for a Spanish company. In 2020, they became a Full Stack Engineer (ReactJS) at Fisherman, working with Semantic UI component library, React Router, Redux for state management, and NodeJS. Currently, they are a Full Stack Engineer at Zinklar and NeighborSchools.

Roberto C. began their education in 2000 when they earned a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Universidad de Costa Rica UCR. In 2004, they attended Worcester Polytechnic Institute for a BSEE in Engineering. From 2006 to 2009, they earned a Master's degree in Project Management from the Universidad para la Cooperación Internacional. Roberto then obtained eight Coursera certificates from 2014 to 2015, including Mobile Cloud Computing with Android Specialization and Machine Learning Foundations: A Case Study Approach. Finally, in 2019 they earned a Master's degree in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra.
