Lili Zheng

Senior Scientist II at Nektar Therapeutics

Lili Zheng has extensive work experience in the biopharmaceutical industry and related research fields. Lili is currently employed as a Senior Scientist II at Nektar Therapeutics since September 2020.

Prior to their current role, Lili worked at LakePharma, Inc. from September 2018 to September 2020 as a Senior Scientist, and from October 2017 to September 2018 as a Scientist.

From April 2017 to September 2017, Lili worked at Boehringer Ingelheim as a Bioprocess Scientist II, and from April 2016 to March 2017 as a Bioprocess Scientist I. In these roles, they conducted research on optimizing cell culture in bioreactor processes, handled larger scale perfusion media preparation, and developed enhanced perfusion media for improved productivity and quality.

Lili's earlier work experience includes being a Research Assistant at Iowa State University from January 2014 to August 2015, where they researched biosynthetic pathways and developed sensing platforms for product profiling. Lili also worked as a Cell Culture Scientist at Stratophase Ltd from July 2012 to February 2013, leading improvement projects for mammalian cell culture processes, and as a Manufacturing Sciences and Technology (MSaT) Technologist at Abbott Diabetes Care, UK from June 2011 to July 2012, providing technical support for manufacturing of glucose monitoring strips.

Lili began their career as an R&D Formulation Technician at Abbott from June 2008 to June 2009, gaining expertise in oral solid dosage formulation processes and sterile APIs.

Overall, Lili Zheng has demonstrated extensive expertise in bioprocessing, cell culture, formulation, and research, and has held various roles in both industry and academia.

Lili Zheng obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry of Pharmaceutical Compounds from University College Cork from 2004 to 2008. Lili then pursued a Master's Degree in Biochemical Engineering from UCL during 2009 to 2010. Following this, Lili completed another Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering with a focus on ME at Iowa State University from 2014 to 2015.
