George Melara is an experienced architectural professional with a solid background in design and management. Currently serving as VP and Managing Director at Nelsen Partners since 2007, George has previously held designer roles at HNTB from 1986 to 1991 and Leo A Daly in 1991-1992. George's educational foundation includes a Bachelor of Science in Design with a focus on Architecture from Arizona State University, complemented by studies at Mohave Community College between 1981 and 1983.

For over 35 years the leaders of Nelsen Partners have worked together on projects throughout the US and around the world. Nelsen Partners provides architecture, interiors, planning, and urban design services for projects ranging from mixed-use developments and master-planned urban centers, to retail developments, office buildings, residential towers, hotels, performing arts venues, and restaurants. The firm, led by thirteen partners and associates, provides its services from offices in Austin and Phoenix. We are a practice consisting of experienced professionals, inspired by the enthusiasm of talented young architects who keep our ideas fresh and expand our vision. We take pride in the contributions of our team members, working collaboratively to engage and integrate their experience, knowledge, vision and innovation in our design process. The expertise gained on hundreds of projects combined with a commitment to exceptional service has built the foundation for the firm to continue its growth and expansion.
