Dr. Robert A. Schwartz joined Neogenomics Laboratories in 2022 after serving 18 years as Vice President of a private pathology practice. Dr. Schwartz is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology as a diplomate of the American Board of Pathology. He completed his pathology residency as Chief Resident along with fellowship training in both Breast Pathology and Surgical Pathology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard University (Boston, MA). He has served as Chair and Medical Director at multiple hospital laboratories and has authored articles published in national medical journals. Dr. Schwartz is active in the College of American Pathologists (CAP) as a Lead Laboratory Inspector, and serves on several national committees and working groups including the CAP Surgical Pathology Committee, the CAP Expert Advisory Panel for the Principles of Analytic Validation of Immunohistochemical Assays Guideline Update, the CAP Artificial Intelligence Working Group, and previously on the CAP Immunohistochemistry Committee. During his time in private practice, Dr. Schwartz was proudly awarded the Best New Physician Award and the STAR Award for Professionalism from his hospital's medical staff. His professional interests include Breast Pathology, Genitourinary Pathology, and Immunohistochemistry.
