Ruben D. Cortes-Torres

Ruben D. Cortes-Torres is a seasoned professional in the biopharmaceutical field, currently serving as a Sr. Expert at Nestlé Health Science since October 2024. Previously, Ruben held several key roles at Seres Therapeutics, culminating as a Principal Scientist, where significant contributions included leading the approval of VOWST™, the FDA's first oral microbiome-based therapeutic. Experience also includes critical leadership positions in analytical sciences and quality control across various organizations such as Lonza and BD, focusing on method transfers, validations, and regulatory compliance. Ruben started the career at Eli Lilly and Company as a Quality Control Laboratory Technician, after earning a degree in Biology with a focus on Human Biology from the University of Puerto Rico-Bayamon.
