David Méthot, B.Eng.

David Méthot, B.Eng. has a diverse work experience in software development and embedded systems. David currently holds the position of Staff Software Developer at nesto, where they have been working since May 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Backend Software Developer at nesto from June 2021 to May 2022. Before joining nesto, David worked as a Software Developer at Vosker from August 2020 to June 2021.

David's experience also includes working as an IoT Embedded Software Developer at SmartD Technologies from February 2019 to July 2020. In this role, they were responsible for software development on an embedded Linux platform with a real-time coprocessor. David was involved in the design of the global system software architecture for a next-generation Variable Frequency Motor Drive (VFD), as well as implementing backend microservices architecture using Golang, gRPC, and Redis. David also established software development best practices such as TDD, design patterns, and CI/CD.

Before joining SmartD Technologies, David worked as an Embedded Software Developer at GSI Group, Inc. from June 2017 to February 2019. David gained further experience as an Embedded Software Developer Intern at Tyco in 2016 and 2015. David also worked as a Software Developer Intern at TECSYS in 2014.

David's early experience includes working at MultiCorpora as a Software Developer and Stagiaire from June 2013 to August 2013 and from March 2013 to May 2013, respectively. David started their professional career as a Computer Salesman at Bureau en Gros from August 2008 to March 2013.

David Méthot, B.Eng. completed their Bachelor's degree in Computer Software Engineering from École de technologie supérieure between 2013 and 2017. Prior to that, they obtained their DEC in Informatique de gestion from College Edouard-Montpetit, which they attended from 2009 to 2013.
