Changjun (Will) Zhao has a diverse work experience. In 2021, they worked as Regulatory Lead at Net Purpose, where they led the development of the company's proprietary Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR) Principal Adverse Impact (PAI) and EU Taxonomy alignment product. Changjun (Will) also supported the SFDR reporting of equities, bonds, and other securities for asset manager clients, and developed and implemented regulatory risk mitigation strategies as part of the company's product roadmap. Additionally, they worked as an ESG Equity Analyst at Net Purpose, where they led the development of the company's proprietary SFDR PAI and EU Taxonomy alignment product, and supported the SFDR reporting of over 1,200 equities, bonds, and other securities for asset manager clients. Changjun (Will) also led on methodological development, research, and product enhancement within the energy impact theme. In 2020, they worked as a Research Assistant at the Green Finance Development Center, Tsinghua PBCSF. In 2019, they worked as a Research Assistant at the Initiative for Sustainable Energy Policy, where they analyzed and categorized the revenue sources, total assets managed, sustainable investment practices, and governance structures of 81 global sovereign wealth funds, and contributed to G20 COVID Stimulus publication with research on carbon emission variation of stimulus programs in response to COVID-19 in China, Japan, and the United Kingdom. In 2018, they worked as a Program Fellow at Growald Climate Fund. In 2017, they worked as a Grassroots Coordinator at MASSACHUSETTS PUBLIC INTEREST RESEARCH GROUP and a Political Risk Analyst at IHS Markit, where they utilized OSINT, GEOINT and other means of intelligence gathering to analyze and produce political risks reports for wide array of clients in both private and public sector that included government agencies as well as international corporations. Changjun (Will) also analyzed case studies on VBIED attacks on cities to determine the potential impacts of terrorism on insured buildings for insurance companies, and recorded and forecast the movements of the various extremist factions and their impacts on business, civility and regional stability. Changjun (Will) Zhao has a diverse educational background. Changjun (Will) began their studies in 2010 at Cranbrook Kingswood Upper School, where they completed their secondary education. In 2014, they graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in International Relations and Political Science from Boston University. Since 2019, they have been pursuing a Master of Arts (MA) in International Economics; Energy, Resources and Environment at The Johns Hopkins University - Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). In November 2022, they will obtain a certification in Deep Dive in Taxonomies from the Climate Bonds Initiative.
