Samantha Ruark has a diverse work experience that spans across several roles and industries. Samantha started their career in 2016 as an intern at Cape Fear Community College, where they served until November 2016. In 2017, they took on internship roles at Plan A Advertising and Louise Wells Cameron Art Museum. In 2018, they worked as a Marketing Intern at the North Carolina Azalea Festival and as an Account Manager at Pier601 Creative. In the same year, they also worked as a Communications Specialist at North Carolina Coastal Federation. In 2016, they were appointed the Events and Marketing Director at Their Campus Media, where they worked until 2018. Samantha's professional career continued at Catholic Charities, Diocese of Arlington, where they served as an Executive Administrative Assistant from 2020 until May 2022, when they joined Arlington Chamber of Commerce. At the Chamber of Commerce, they worked as a Communications Manager until April 2023 when they joined NetCentrics as a Marketing and Communications Specialist.

Samantha Ruark obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and Media Studies from the University of North Carolina Wilmington between 2014 and 2018. In 2017, they also completed a Bachelor's degree program in Journalism from the University of Stirling.
