Holden Karau

Holden Karau is an experienced software engineer and open source advocate specializing in big data technologies, particularly Apache Spark. Currently serving as an Open Source Engineer at Netflix, Holden leads the Spark-Upgrade Project and focuses on automating Spark migrations while enhancing dynamic scaling and Kubernetes integration. Prior experience includes roles at Apple, Google, and IBM, where Holden contributed to the improvement of Spark and other big data products. Holden has a solid educational foundation with a Bachelor of Mathematics in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo.
