Benard Rono CISA, CFE, CCNA Cyber Ops has over 8 years of professional experience in the fields of Risk Consulting, Business and Data Analysis, and Fraud and Cybersecurity.

Benard began their career in 2013 as an Intern at KenGen. In 2015, they joined KPMG as a Risk Consultant IT Advisory and Data Analytics.

In 2017, Benard joined NetGuardians as Senior Business and Data Analyst Team Lead Africa. In this role, they offered Fraud consulting services across three lines of defence in Banks governance structure. Benard also led functional scoping and delivery Fraud prevention software Implementation projects for over 20 Banks teams across sub-Saharan Africa.

Benard then moved into the role of Business and Data Analyst Expert, where they trained the risk models through Machine Learning process and AI to reduce false positives, designed data controls to test the design and effectiveness for continuous monitoring, and led Risk assessments workshops to define scope of work to be implemented and documented.

Finally, Benard became a Fraud and Cybersecurity Risk Consultant, where they conducted Business Process reviews to identify gaps that can be exploited for Fraudulent activities, built Anti-Fraud controls, trained Anti Fraud Models and Controls Fine-tuning, and conducted Data quality reviews and Preparations.

Benard Rono has a varied educational background. Benard attended Moi University from 2011 to 2015, where they earned a degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Benard also attended Kapsabet Boys High School from 2005 to 2008. In addition to their formal education, Benard Rono has obtained several certifications, including Dataiku Dss from Dataiku in December 2019, Certified Fraud Examiner from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) in April 2018, Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) from ISACA in February 2016, Certified Public Accountant from KASNEB in September 2009, and Cisco Certified Network Associate Cyber Ops (CCNA) from Cisco in December 2018.
