Thijs Vroegh

Thijs Vroegh is a Research Software Engineer at the Netherlands eScience Center since February 2023, specializing in high-performance computing, big data, and scientific workflows. Previously, Vroegh held various research positions at the Max Planck Institute for Empirical Aesthetics, including ten years as a Visiting Researcher and roles as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and Graduate Research Fellow, focusing on music-induced mindwandering, aesthetic experiences, and Bayesian network modeling. Additional experience includes being a researcher at ResearchNed, an affiliate researcher at Universiteit Utrecht, a lecturer in Music Therapy at Hogeschool Utrecht, and a statistical programmer at AkzoNobel/Organon. Vroegh's educational background encompasses a PhD in Musicology from Goethe University Frankfurt, a cum laude Research Master from Utrecht University, an MPhil in Musicology from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, and an MSc in Agricultural and Environmental Economics from Wageningen University & Research.
