Liz Shields

Liz Shields has a diverse and extensive work experience. Currently, they hold the position of Director of IT and Business Systems at Netlify. In this role, they oversee the IT and business systems for the company.

Before joining Netlify, Liz worked at Zendesk for several years in various roles. Liz started as an IT Business Analyst, where they focused on forming compliance programs and leading the HRIS RFP requirement gathering. Liz then moved on to become a Senior IT Business Analyst, leading the integration and compliance effort for Zendesk's Workday implementation. Liz also served as a Senior Manager, leading a team of analysts managing integrations between systems for the People Ops and Customer Advocacy departments. In their latest role at Zendesk, they were a Senior Manager, overseeing employee experience applications and managing development efforts.

Prior to Zendesk, Liz worked as the Director of Information Systems at Invisible Children Inc. Here, they were responsible for leading product management and configuration of various technologies and enhancing data and metric access for the executive team.

Liz also gained valuable experience at The Active Network as a Project Manager, where they successfully managed multiple projects for product management, information systems, and operations teams. Liz also served as a Product Marketing Analyst, Client Account Executive, Implementation Analyst & Technical Support, and started as a Sales/Marketing Intern & Administrative Assistant at the company.

Additionally, Liz served as a Board Member - Secretary at the Echo Lakes Association for three years.

Throughout their career, Liz has demonstrated strong leadership skills, the ability to work closely with business partners, and a focus on delivering critical integrations and systems.

Liz Shields received their Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Globalization from UC San Diego in the years 2001 to 2005. Additionally, they obtained a certification as a Salesforce.com Certified Administrator from Salesforce in May 2013.
