Khalil Khaku has gained extensive work experience in the field of mechatronics engineering and robotics.
In 2019, Khalil worked as a Mechatronics Research and Development Co-op at Project Clean, where they were involved in various aspects of a sensor project, including conceptualization, CAD model designs, PCB design, 3D printing, and prototype testing. Khalil also programmed microcontrollers to test and control sensors and designed a PCB control board for transmitting sensor readings.
Following this, Khalil joined RDK Marketing Solutions Ltd. as an Engineering Technician Co-op. In this role, they developed a wireless control system for timing and lighting of signs and implemented techniques to optimize the manufacturing process.
In 2021, Khalil worked as a Mechatronics Engineering Co-op at Tellext. Here, they redesigned the electrical system of a robot, improving connections and creating a modular testing prototype. Khalil used SolidWorks for designing the structure and determining sensor orientation and height.
Currently, Khalil is employed as a Robot Field Test Engineer at Neupeak Robotics, starting in 2022.
Khalil Khaku began their education journey at Kwantlen Polytechnic University in 2015, where they focused on studying Engineering. Khalil attended this institution until 2017. Following their time at Kwantlen Polytechnic University, Khalil continued their education at Simon Fraser University from 2017 to 2021. During this period, they pursued a degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering.
