Hongjun(Robin) Zhou

Principal Bioinformatics Scientist at Neurona Therapeutics

Hongjun (Robin) Zhou has worked for Neurona Therapeutics since 2020 as a Principal Bioinformatics Scientist and Senior Bioinformatics Scientist. Prior to this, they were employed at UC Santa Barbara from 2008-2020, where they held the role of Project Scientist and Bioinformatics-Postdoc. During their time in this position, they were responsible for Next Generation Sequencing data analysis, developing automatic Quality Control, alignment, and gene profiling pipelines, and studying gene function, pathway, network, and evolution, as well as genomic, transcriptome, miRNAs, lncRNAs, piRNAs, iso-miRs, iso-moRs, primate-specific miRNAs, and Fragile X Syndrome.

Hongjun (Robin) Zhou began their educational journey in 1999 when they attended Beijing Normal University and earned a Bachelor's degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, General in 2003. Hongjun(Robin) then continued their studies at Beijing Normal University and earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Bioinformatics in 2008. From 2008 to 2013, they completed a postdoc in Bioinformatics and Neuroscience at UC Santa Barbara.
