Adam Allred

Associate Director Of Bioinformatics at Clear Labs

Adam Allred has a comprehensive work experience in the field of bioinformatics. Adam began their career as an Undergraduate Researcher at Brigham Young University and then moved on to work as an Advanced Sequencing Applications Intern at Life Technologies. During this time, they focused on epigenomic analysis using next-generation sequencing and developed a proprietary algorithm for bisulfite sequencing analysis. Adam also mapped sequences to human and Arabidopsis genomes for whole-genome methylation analysis. Adam then joined Washington University in St. Louis as a Ph.D. student, where they invented VIPR, a Bayesian statistical algorithm, and utilized it to analyze diagnostic microarrays for identifying infecting viruses. Adam'salgorithm outperformed previously published methods for the same data set. After completing their Ph.D., Adam worked at Life Technologies as a Staff Scientist, specializing in bioinformatics. Adam later joined Thermo Fisher Scientific as Manager of Bioinformatics before transitioning to Clear Labs, where they currently hold the position of Associate Director of Bioinformatics. Prior to this role, they have held various other positions at Clear Labs, including Senior Staff Bioinformatician, Staff Bioinformatician, and Senior Bioinformatician. Throughout their career, Adam has demonstrated expertise in developing algorithms, analyzing genomic data, and leading bioinformatics teams.

Adam Allred earned their B.S. in Bioinformatics from Brigham Young University, where they studied from 1999 to 2005. Following this, they pursued a Ph.D. in Computational Biology at Washington University in St. Louis, completing their studies from 2005 to 2012.
