Derick Unger

Derick Unger has extensive work experience in the field of geology, with a focus on exploration and resource assessment. Derick is currently serving as the Vice President of Exploration at NevGold Corp., a position they have held since May 2022. Prior to that, Derick worked as the Chief Geologist at NevGold Corp., from July 2021 to May 2022.

Before joining NevGold Corp, Derick worked as a Resource Geologist at Mine Development Associates a Division of RESPEC from March 2019 to June 2021. Derick also served as the Chief Exploration Geologist at NuLegacy Gold Corporation from August 2016 to March 2019.

Derick's previous experience includes working as a Senior Exploration Geologist at Nyrstar from October 2012 to March 2016, a Project Geologist at Newmont Corporation from March 2010 to October 2012, and an Exploration Geologist at Newmont Corporation from September 2008 to March 2010.

Earlier in their career, Derick worked as an Exploration Geologist at Victoria Gold Corp. from July 2007 to August 2008. Derick also gained experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Auburn University from August 2005 to May 2007, and as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Indiana State University from September 2002 to May 2005.

Derick Unger obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Geology from Indiana State University from the years 2002 to 2005. Following this, they pursued a Master's Degree in Geology from Auburn University from 2005 to 2008. In December 2017, Derick also obtained the certification of Certified Professional Geologist from the American Institute of Professional Geologists.
