Lela Potskhverashvili

Associate Professor of Sociology

Associate Professor Lela Potskhverashvili holds a Master’s in International Relations from Tbilisi State University and a Master of Arts from Lancaster University. She has studied at the University of Warsaw, Charles University, and Georgetown University. A fellow of the American Education Foundation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland, and the International Visegrad Foundation, she is currently working on her doctoral dissertation at Tbilisi State University on Georgia’s foreign policy and national identity.

Since 2022, Associate Professor Lela Potskhverashvili has been the Vice Director of the Resort Development Agency under Georgia’s Ministry of Economy. Since 2016, she has led the Department of International Relations and Analytics at MTA LLC and is also a Visiting Lecturer at Ilia State University. With over 15 years of experience in both public and private sectors, Lela Potskhverashvili specializes in international relations, sociology, economics, and humanitarian law. She has contributed to developing conventions, strategies, and action plans in various state policy areas. Since 2012, she has served as a project manager and expert for Eastern Partnership and Visegrad countries, focusing on economic sustainability, tourism, and the integration of vulnerable groups.
