Micheal Smith

Micheal Smith has over 35 years of experience in the energy industry. Micheal is currently serving as the Vice President of Generation Support at New Fortress Energy. Prior to this, they worked at Cogentrix Energy, LLC as the Vice President of Operations, overseeing the management of combined cycle power plants and contributing to M&A activities. Before that, Micheal held various roles at Siemens Energy, including Director of Field Service International and President of Siemens Power Generation Service Company. Micheal has extensive knowledge in operations and maintenance, long-term service agreements, and global risk management. Micheal started their career as an Engineer at Progress Energy and also worked as a Student Engineer at Alabama Power Company.

Michael Smith attended Auburn University from 1981 to 1986, earning a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Micheal also holds certifications as a Certified Senior Project Manager from Siemens Program Management Office and as a Professional Engineer (inactive) from the State of Florida, obtained in 2011 and February 1992 respectively.
