Forensic Toxicology Deputy Bureau Chief at New Mexico Department of Health

Allen Gilliland has a diverse work experience in the field of chemistry. Allen currently works as the Forensic Toxicology Deputy Bureau Chief at the New Mexico Department of Health, where they are responsible for managing daily operations and overseeing staff development and training. Prior to this, they worked as a Bioanalytical Chemistry Research Associate at Lovelace Biomedical, where they conducted complex experiments and prepared reports and budgets. Allen also served as a Chemist Supervisor at the Department of Health Scientific Laboratories Division, where they supervised the Drug Screening section and analyzed evidence for alcohol content and drug abuse. Allen Gilliland obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Chemistry from New Mexico State University from 2009 to 2013. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Forensic Science at Florida International University, where they studied from 2013 to 2016. Continuing their education, Gilliland completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Forensic Chemistry at Florida International University from 2013 to 2018.
