Mshr Shannell Townsend

Shannell Townsend has a diverse range of work experience in human resources and communications. Shannell is currently serving as the Human Resources Director at the New Mexico State Land Office since April 2021. Prior to that, they held the position of VP of Communications Board Member at NORTHERN NEW MEXICO HUMAN RESOURCE ASSOCIATION starting from October 2020.

Shannell has also worked at NM Department of Transportation, District 5 as the Human Resources Manager from April 2019 to April 2021. Shannell gained experience as a Human Resources Generalist at the New Mexico Department of Health from August 2018 to May 2019.

Before their roles in HR, Shannell was a Program Manager at the New Mexico Department of Transportation from June 2017 to August 2018. In this role, they managed traffic safety projects and programs for multiple agencies.

Shannell'searlier experience includes working as an HR Analyst at the State of New Mexico from March 2015 to June 2017, a Human Resource Analyst at INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY, NEW MEXICO DEPARTMENT OF from June 2011 to March 2015, and an Executive Assistant to Cabinet Secretary/State CIO also at the INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY, NEW MEXICO DEPARTMENT OF from October 2007 to July 2011.

Shannell has also worked as an Administrative Assistant to CIO at the New Mexico Department of Public Safety from June 2006 to October 2007, a Communications Officer at the New Mexico Environment Department from July 2002 to June 2006, and a Business HR Manager at The Sanctuary Treatment Center from January 1999 to April 2002.

Shannell Townsend, MSHR, holds a Master's degree in Human Resources Strategic Planning from Bellevue University. Prior to their Master's degree, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Management of Human Resources from the same institution, specializing in Human Resources Management and Services.
