Miriam Frankel

Freelance Writer, New Scientist at New Scientist

Miriam Frankel is a seasoned science editor and writer with extensive experience in the field of science communication. Currently serving as Senior Science Editor at The Conversation Media Group since April 2015, Miriam commissions and edits articles across various scientific disciplines and created the podcast Great Mysteries of Physics. Additionally, Miriam works as a freelance writer for major publications including New Scientist and BBC Future. An accomplished author, Miriam published the book "Are You Thinking Clearly? 29 reasons you aren't, and what to do about it" in August 2022, co-authored with Matt Warren. With past roles including news editor and reporter at Research Fortnight, freelance reporter for Physics World, and research at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Miriam's educational background includes Master's Degrees in Science Communication from Imperial College London and Physics from Lund University.
