DeJane' Thompson has a diverse work experience that spans various industries and roles. From 2013 to 2014, they served as the SGA President at Albany State University, overseeing a large organization and acting as a liaison between students and the university. In 2014, they worked as a Titans Sports Reporter at Albany Technical College, where they managed social media accounts and designed advertisements. From 2015 to 2016, they worked as a Multimedia Journalist at Fox News, pitching stories, conducting interviews, and producing professional content. In 2016, they briefly worked as a Project Specialist at The Home Depot, where they assigned jobs to installers and ensured customer satisfaction. From 2016 to 2018, they worked as a Middle School Math Educator at Shelby County Public Schools, managing daily lessons, curriculum, and student behavior. From 2018 to 2020, they served as a Manager of Development at Teach For America, managing grants, organizing fundraising events, and coordinating donor communications. Starting in 2020, they transitioned to Spelman College, first as a Leadership Gifts Officer and then as a Sr. Leadership Gifts Officer, managing major giving, stewardship, and solicitation for a donor portfolio. Currently, they are working at the New Teacher Center as the Director of Partnerships and Development, where they are responsible for enhancing fundraising initiatives and developing partnerships.
DeJane' Thompson completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Mass Communications at Albany State University from 2011 to 2015. In 2019, they obtained a certification as a Certified Grant Writer from Valdosta State University.
