Rowena Yow

Rowena Yow has a strong background in communications and editing, with experience in various industries. Rowena is currently the Director of Marketing & Communications at New Visions for Public Schools, a role they have held since July 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Freelance Editor from 2015. Rowena also served as the Director of Communications at Impact Public Schools from August 2021 to July 2023, and at Junior Achievement of Washington from October 2019 to July 2021. Rowena was the Content & Communications Director at Seattle Rep from July 2016 to October 2019. Rowena has also worked in the publishing industry, holding roles such as Associate Editor at Vertigo Comics and Associate Editor with Collected Editions at DC Comics from 2012 to 2016. Additionally, they were an Editor at Bookish.com in 2011, where they oversaw various genres, pitched story ideas, and conducted interviews. Earlier in their career, Rowena worked as an Associate Editor at United Media from 2008 to 2011, editing comic strips and columns and managing puzzle production. Rowena also had editorial assistant roles at Random House and Pearson Education in 2008 and 2007 respectively.

Rowena Yow completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Communications from Boston University, where they studied from 2001 to 2005. Additionally, in January 2016, they obtained an advanced certification in French fluency from Duolingo.
