Katja Niemann

Katja Niemann has a strong background in data science and research. Katja started their career at Fraunhofer FIT in 2008 as a Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin / Researcher, where they worked until 2016. Katja then joined XING as a Data Scientist, and quickly moved up to become Senior Data Scientist, working there until 2019. In 2019, they joined NEW WORK SE as a Senior Data Scientist and later became a Lead Data Scientist. Currently, they hold the position of Team Lead Data Science at the same company.

Katja Niemann received their Magistra Artium (equivalent to a Master's degree) in Computer Science and Computational Linguistics from Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg / University of Heidelberg in 2007. Katja then went on to earn a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Science from RWTH Aachen University in 2015. Additionally, they obtained several certifications in various fields, including Big Data Analysis with Scala and Spark, Deep Learning Specialization, Sequence Models, Convolutional Neural Networks, Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter tuning, Regularization and Optimization, Structuring Machine Learning Projects, Neural Networks and Deep Learning, and R Programming.
