Sonia Kubica-Simões

Sonia Kubica-Simões is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in both financial auditing and arts management. Currently serving as a Campaign Finance Auditor at the New York City Campaign Finance Board since August 2013, Sonia conducts financial audits for various city election campaigns, ensuring compliance with the NYC Campaign Finance Act and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards. Prior roles include Gallery Coordinator at The Project Lodge, where Sonia managed curatorial and marketing activities, and Financial Specialist at the WI Government Accountability Board, focusing on budget tracking and state fund management. Sonia has also held several leadership positions in arts organizations, such as Development Manager at Theatre X and Grants Manager at Skylight Opera Theatre, where grant writing and fundraising were key responsibilities. A co-founder of the Milwaukee Artist Resource Network, Sonia is dedicated to supporting artists and has a B.A. in Political Science and Art History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
