Andrea Herrera is an experienced organizer with a strong background in community engagement and support services. Currently serving as an Organizer at the New York Civil Liberties Union since December 2017, Andrea also holds the position of Activity Specialist at KIPP NYC, and is a dedicated member of the Jews for Racial and Economic Justice's Jews of Color Caucus. Previous roles include a Community Organizing Intern at the New York Civil Liberties Union and an Academic Counseling Intern at CUNY Hostos Community College. Earlier experience includes mentoring middle school students at Communities In Schools Renton, where Andrea promoted coping strategies and emotional resilience, and working as a Quit Coach at Optum, focusing on mental health support for nicotine addiction. Andrea holds a Master of Science in Social Work from Columbia University, emphasizing contemporary social issues.
