SVP And Director, Model Risk Management at New York Community Bancorp

Janet Shand has a diverse and extensive work experience in the banking industry. Janet began their career as a Deputy Auditor at CFS Bank in August 1999 and held this position until November 2000. Janet then moved on to New York Community Bank (NYCB), where they held various roles over the years. From December 2000 to August 2004, they served as a VP Financial Reporting Manager. From September 2004 to December 2007, they took on the role of Sarbanes Oxley Compliance Manager. Following that, they became a VP Enterprise Risk Management Manager from January 2008 to January 2014. After that, they served as the FVP of Enterprise Risk Management Governance from January 2014 to December 2015. Subsequently, they held the position of FVP, Internal Controls Testing Manager from December 2015 to November 2017. From November 2017 to January 2021, they served as a Senior VP, Model Risk Management Manager. Currently, they hold the position of SVP and Director of Model Risk Management at NYCB, starting from January 2021.

Janet Shand completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting from St. John's University from 1987 to 1991. Prior to that, they attended St. Vincent Ferrer High School from 1983 to 1987.
