Lawrence Rosano

Lawrence Rosano, Jr. serves as a Director of New York Community Bancorp, Inc. and of its bank subsidiary, Flagstar Bank, N.A. He joined the Company’s board in July 2014. He is a member on the Compensation, Board Credit, and Risk Assessment Committees.

Since May 1974, Mr. Rosano has served as President of a New York real estate development and management firm: Associated Development Corp. and has been a member of 460 Grand Street Realty LLC, a New York limited liability company, since August 2013.

Over the course of his career, Mr. Rosano has overseen the design, construction, and marketing of numerous large-scale residential developments, multi-family properties, and commercial properties throughout New York City and Nassau County, which are the primary markets for the Company’s multi-family and commercial real estate loans.

In recognition of his expertise in real estate, Mr. Rosano was appointed by former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg in 2006 and 2007 to serve as an industry representative on two Task Forces under the aegis of the City’s Department of Environmental Protection. In addition, Mr. Rosano has been a member of the New York City Council’s Building Resiliency Task Force since 2012.

In November 2016, Mr. Rosano was appointed by the City of New York as a member of the Contractor and Expert Committee of the MS4 Policy Group of the New York City Department of Environmental Protection, the Urban Green Council, and the Real Estate Board of New York to develop a storm water management program in order for New York City to comply with the MS4 permit process of the U.S. and New York City Departments of Environmental Protection.

A Licensed General Contractor and Licensed Construction Superintendent in New York City, and a Licensed General Contractor in Nassau County, Mr. Rosano provides leadership to the Queens & Bronx Building Association, serving as a member of its Board of Directors and as a former president.

He also is actively involved in the work of non-profit organizations, serving on the Executive Committee of the Cooley’s Anemia Blood and Research Foundation for Children, and having served as a member and Secretary of the Board of Directors of Denton Green Housing Company, a not-for-profit senior housing corporation from 2011 to 2013.
